FAQs

As North America's leading roofing manufacturer, GAF is an active neighbor directly invested in the health and growth of the communities where we operate. Beyond manufacturing industry-leading roofing materials across 30 U.S. locations, GAF enriches local livelihoods by creating American manufacturing jobs, offering tuition-free trade training through the GAF Roofing Academy, and partnering with non-profits to build community resilience.
We collaborate with a network of community partners, including non-profit organizations and local response teams to support our hometown communities. Our partners understand residents' unique needs and help GAF offer assistance to causes supporting shelter, families, and workforce development.
GAF supports a wide variety of localized projects across the country through its social impact initiative, GAF Community Matters, which is focused on making a positive difference as neighbors and partners in the community by leveraging roofing expertise, resources and products to help build resilient communities. Here is how GAF Community Matters is putting this commitment into action across the country:
  • GAF successfully trained more than 80 local residents in Baltimore through the GAF Roofing Academy, which provides participants with hands-on and classroom residential and commercial roofing installation instruction, equipping them with the foundational skills needed to launch long-term careers in the roofing industry. Since the program launched in 2020, it has trained more than 5,300 individuals, including more than 200 in the greater Baltimore area, with over 3,000 placed into jobs nationwide.

  • In Tuscaloosa, GAF donated a new, fully adhered GAF EverGuard® TPO roofing system for the completion of the renovation of The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, which plays a critical role in regional economic and community development. This new roofing system was installed by GAF-certified contractor Bama Roofing to help protect the facility for years to come.

  • GAF joined forces with the Wichita Habitat for Humanity, to help provide a new roof for a local resident. In addition to donated materials, GAF employees from the company’s Newton facility, along with members of GAF’s Center for the Advancement of Roofing Excellence (CARE) team, were on-site alongside Habitat staff to support much-needed home repairs, including the installation of the new roof.

  • GAF recently announced an expansion of the GAF Community Contractor Program, which now provides a complete roofing system and enhanced warranty coverage for all qualify residential roofing systems that it donates nationwide.
