Sutton's was founded by Edsell and Mayme Sutton following World War II in 1946, and it soon became a Springfield tradition, known for honesty and quality in exterior remodeling services. Edsell and Mayme's son, Douglas Sr., joined the business in 1973 and expanded its scope by adding interior remodeling to its service offerings. In 1995, Sutton’s further expanded its services to include insurance repairs, restorations, and handyman services. Douglas Sr. retired in 2010, but his two sons, Douglas Jr. and Michael, continue the family's third-generation ownership and oversight of the business today. Now, Trip, Zoe, and Drake Sutton work day-to-day in the business in leadership roles, representing the fourth generation.
