"You have probably heard of the phrase "The proof is in the pudding." Well, when it comes to purchasing a product or service, I research, research, and research so more, and then I cast my "official" review on the quality of the product or service based upon my actual experience with it. Additionally, when it comes to recommendations, I trust, but always verify. Well, my home suffered quite a bit of shingle damage from a storm system that blew through the Spring TX area in late June of 2023, but it was not quite enough to allow for a full roof replacement. I was referred to 1st Choice Roofing by a friend, and I thought that I would have them come by my home, review the damage, and then give me an estimate. No commitments, just an estimate at first. From my initial call and conversation with Martin, you could tell that this company was really different, in a really good way. Well, for the estimate, Alex and one of his colleagues came by my home, walked the roof, took pictures, and took time to explain in detail what they found - which was later included in a report. They were very professional, very informative and friendly, and they were able to answer any questions that I had, and I peppered them with quite a few. They even identified some roof ventilation / airflow mistakes that the original builder made on my home. I work in IT and I do my research, and they were even able to talk about the quality of shingles they work with, the pluses and minuses of each, and explain the benefit each would make on my home and cost. I got an estimate for the shingle damage and the price was great, so my wife and I prayed and then we decided to move forward. They sent out a crew of guys to tackle the job the following week, and during the repair process they identified some additional, urgent sealing issues that were promptly taken care of. The repair job took about 5 to 6 hours - factoring in the complexity of the job due to the pitch of my roof, and they did a great job. My overall experience was great from start to finish, and I would highly recommend 1st Choice Roofing as your first place to call if you have any roofing problems that you need looked into. "They didn’t do anything we asked them to do. We had many conversations on what we expected. They were suppose to remove the drain that was on the concrete in the middle and did not. Then they were also suppose to put the other drains toward the grass and didn’t do that either. Very disappointed with this company. I am hoping they fix it and get it right. Once it’s done right we will go elsewhere for the rest of the house"

Nick Chavez responded right away, handled the inspection himself, and was highly knowledgeable and skilled in diagnosing the need for roof repair and what information to get from my insurance company. When I got the estimates they were very reasonable compared to information I had and with the excellent responsiveness and service from Nick, I didn't feel a need to look any further. The roof replacement took one day. Everything went according to plan. The team is diligent and great in all aspects (tear down, roof repairs, new roof, cleanup. Excellent communication throughout.
